The TS11 is a 1600bpi only 9-track tape that connects through a 20-conductor ribbon cable to a hex height Unibus module (M7982) called the TS11 controller. This drive is quite heavy, i never even tried to get it out of its rack. When i first started playing with it, i nearly completely disassembled it because i didn't notice that the lights indicating correct operation were dead. After i replaced these lights, i was already thinking about disassembling it a second time, but then i reversed the cable on the controller, et voila, it worked :-)
These tape drives are known to go mad under certain circumstances, spinning both reels in different directions. Because of this they got their nickname: Tape Stretcher 11.
